NBA Trade Rumors: Golden State Warriors could bag $166 million Miami Heat superstar

Warriors Eye Major Roster Shake-Up: Bam Adebayo Targeted, Buddy Hield on the Way Out?

The Golden State Warriors narrowly avoided a Play-In catastrophe, edging out the Memphis Grizzlies to claim the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference. But with their playoff lives hanging by a thread, it’s becoming clear that the team may need significant changes this offseason — starting with moving on from Buddy Hield and setting sights on Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat, as predicted by Caleb Hightower of Sporting News.

Once seen as a potential Klay Thompson successor, Hield’s shooting touch has faded dramatically. His three-point numbers over recent months raise concerns:

  • December: 30.5% from three
  • January: 31.5% from three
  • Play-In performance: 1-of-4 from deep vs. Memphis

Although he finished the regular season shooting 37.0% from beyond the arc, Hield’s inconsistency makes him a tough sell as a long-term piece. As Hightower put it: “He’s looked more like a fraudulent splash brother as time has progressed.”

If the Warriors fall early in the playoffs, all eyes may turn to Bam Adebayo. The three-time All-Star has developed into a complete two-way threat, with the kind of frontcourt presence Golden State has lacked in recent years:

  • 2024–25 Stats: 18.1 PPG, 9.6 RPG, 4.3 APG
  • Shooting: 48.5% FG, 35.7% 3P
  • Skillset: Interior scoring, ball handling, floor spacing

Adebayo’s evolution from elite defender to dynamic offensive weapon could be the missing piece in Golden State’s championship puzzle.
